If you have a book for sale, it will most likely be in Amazon like every other book on the planet. You may be already familiar with the site and as you may know, it has system that people can give reviews for future buyers to base on. People can rate your book up to 5 stars as the maximum.

Wouldn't it be nice to have high a rating (even perfect, 5-stars) and great raves about your book? Of course it would be! Having a 5 stars rating next to your product generates great impact and enormous appeal.

You can achieve this by using these techniques to get a 5 Star Amazon.com Book Review. Here's how to do it.

Post an email into your email marketing software and send out an email requesting for a positive review. This works great as a part of your autoresponsder service. If you don't have an autoresponder, you can do this with forums that tailor to your target readership.

Make it polite and appealing by giving an incentive to those who carry out your request. Consider this as an example:

Subject: Free Surprise Gift

Hello! Many of you have asked how you can help me with my book, (insert book title here). Here's an easy way to help me out a lot.

Go to (insert exact URL of the book on Amazon) and give me a five star review. In turn, I'll email you a free surprise gift!

Notice that the subject is written as 'Free Surprise Gift.' It is tailored to entice the reader to read on and discover what the message has to say. It will give the recipient motivation to continue reading.

The message is brief, straightforward, but cordial. The letter ends with an offer; an additional incentive to those who adhered to the request. Remember that people tend to think what's in it for them before doing anything. So, it is imperative that you must provide a payoff for people's efforts no matter how simple it may be.

I have personally used this technique before and will continue to use it until proven ineffective. In my experience, an immediate response of 6 reviews had shown up. It all happened within 2 hours of my bulletin post. Not bad for 2 minutes of almost effortless work. It is very likely that the people that will give the maximum reviews have never even read your book.

As a gesture of your gratitude, send each of the reviewers a free.pdf version of your book or other online resources at your disposal. The reviewers will greatly appreciate it! The gifts you will send will cost you nothing but will be of value to the recipients.

You can follow these same principles and send an email to your contacts, or post more bulletins, offering them a free surprise gift, in exchange for giving you a testimonial or a review.

I don't think it's necessary, or even helpful, to tell your readers what gift you are going to give. People like to be surprised, and they'll write you a quote just to find out what the surprise is.
