Dog Grooming Slicker
Which kind of brush should i use to groom my dog?
We are using this slicker brush now but he growls and tries to bite whenever we groom him. He doesnt seem to like it. he is a yorkie about 3 months and 2 days old. i just need to know if this is the correct brush and how should i brush him because the breeder said he needed to be groomed every day
He's probably trying to see if he can buffalo you into not grooming him. A slicker brush for a yorkie is a good choice. Also have on hand a comb. I liker the teflon coated greyhound comb. They're a bit tough to find, but I get mine from www.petedge.com. You might want to try line brushing. It could be your pup has little mats that are getting pulled when you brush without your knowledge. To linebrush, you lift the coat against the grain with
one hand, and literally seperate out a line 1/2 to 1 inch wide, and brush it
out with a slicker brush until all the loose undercoat and tangles are gone.
Do this line by line until the whole dog is brushed. Then take a comb
through to get any undercoat and tangles that were missed.
